Questions about the Talpiot Tomb

  • Can they get permission to open from another authority?

 

  • If this is the tomb of Jesus, then what does this do to a modern Christian’s belief in the resurrection?
    • Physical?
    • Spiritual?

 

  • What if it is only his family, not Jesus?

 

  • How common are the names?

 

  • How good is the statistical analysis?

 

    • What is the IAA – why can it not be opened?
      What is their position on the tomb?
    • What do they say it is?

 

  • What is the impact upon the Jewish religion if this were proof of a resurrected Jew?

 

  • If you find the body… then … there was no physical resurrection?

 

  • Question:  Behold your son.
    • Who is the beloved disciple
    • Candidates: John, Lazarus, the film suggests Jesus’ son.

    • The names are a match for known family members.  – Statistical matches.
    • DNA match and mis-match. (Two unlinked DNA’s in one box.)
    • Symbols – chevron and circle are found also in the known tomb of Simon Bar Joseph – on Mt. of Olives.
    • Patina matches – 10th box linked to the other 9 in the family tomb.
